This is a safer and braver space for connecting with our beautiful, transformational, butterfly selves as trans and non-binary teens (ages 14-18) through the arts. The emphasis of this group is on expression not expertise! No experience with the arts is necessary to benefit from the personal and collective healing power of creativity.

This group will provide an understanding environment for trans and non-binary teens to express their feelings, and get supportive feedback from other gender non-conforming youth. Through art, writing, movement, drama and music, we will process difficult experiences, and expand on our innate resilience and potential for growth.

The process of coming into ourselves as trans and non-binary people can be difficult enough without the confusion, resistance, and even outright hostility of our culture and even friends and family. Together we will explore issues such as identity, dysphoria, mental health, trauma, oppression, and liberation for trans and non-binary teens. Embark on your own creative odyssey of existing as your authentic self and all of the complexity and nuance that comes with it.

This group will take place in-person in Oakland, CA. The fee is $75/session for 10 sessions or $750 up front. Some low-fee slots are available.
